Frontier Campground

Below are some testimonials from some of our favorite customers...

"Safe, Clean and Quiet campground for work or R&R"

Staying here while working at Wright Patterson Air Force Base. It is perfect. Quiet, Clean and Safe. The owner works harder than anyone I have ever seen at keeping it that way. All day cleaning and all night making rounds checking on sites. One stay and you will see the obvious pride in ownership that I do. Ms. Chelsea in the office is professional and super nice.. absolutely anything you need, she is there for you. Just as an example, I mentioned to her in conversation that the men's room was getting cold and my very next trip to bathroom there was a heater in place keeping it warm.. If you're looking for a Safe, Clean and Quiet campground for work or R&R, you will not find a better one than this. 11/17

Pretty, well kept campground with friendly owner and staff. 10/17

"Most relaxing, cleanest..."

We stand behind Mr. Walter and his staff, they are great. they'll always work hard to make it nice and safe for all who visit. Frontier campground is a quiet clean place to relax and enjoy the outdoors. We have lived this lifestyle for 11 years and have stayed at many campgrounds, frontier by far has been one of the most relaxing, cleanest places we have stayed at, so if you are looking for a nice, safe place to take your family...do not hesitate in calling frontier campground. They also have really nice cabins if you don't have an RV. 10/17

"Hands on"

Pet friendly owner is really hands on. I came in pouring down rain owner helped establish a lot and help get the car off the tow dolly of my RV in the pouring down rain. That speaks volumes. 10/17

"Drama free"

Love it, love it! Peaceful, quiet, and drama free! 10/17

My husbands work keeps us on the road. We have been at Frontier Campground since July. We could not have ask for a nicer campground and owner Walter. I felt very comfortable and safe here while my husband was working. It's a very clean and quite place to stay. I highly recommend Frontier Campground and if we are ever back this way I would definitely stay here again. If you are looking for all the amenities, clean and quite place to stay then Frontier campground is what you are looking for. 10/17

“Great place for family’s to get away from the city life”
Great owner and great place for family’s to get away from the city life. Great neighbors who are kind and polite. Nice location and awesome new shower house and bathrooms. 10/17

“It is so quiet and peaceful here...we LOVE IT SO MUCH!”
So, we have stayed in another local campground here in Ohio and it was great for almost 6 years....we then moved to frontier and Walter, the owner is AMAZING! He provides a wonderful atmosphere for people/families but unfortunately those same people ruin it ....the game room is awesome with many games, a TV and couch, projection machine for karaoke etc....too bad people SUCK and don't respect the property of the campground 😭 he even supplies a sink, stove, microwave and such for a family get-together and a freezer with ice popcicles for the kids!!!!! The pool is so very nice with plenty of seating area and the park is pet friendly as long as you clean up after your pet....as it should be!!! It is so quiet and peaceful here...we LOVE IT SO MUCH! When we read hateful reviews we are perplexed... Walter is honest, straight forward and just asks you to follow simple and basic rules....you can't and shouldn't expect to have your whole damn family free camping simply because you are staying here....he needs to make a living too and frankly this is his "backyard" and he's allowing us to stay here and enjoy the beautiful area......cudos and a Huge thanks to Frontier and Walter for providing an amazing place to stay!!!!!! If you're looking for a beautiful place to stay then this is it!!! Tons of trees, small and quiet. We've stayed here many nights and ABSOLUTELY LOVE it! The owner, Mr. Walter and office manager Miss Chelsie are very helpful and just plain good, honest people. Anyone who doesn't like it here or has an issue with how Me. Walter runs it is just hateful, we wouldn't stay here if we didn't respect the owner... He is truly a kind man of great character. We appreciate all he does in providing a comfortable, safe place to stay! 9/17

“Great atmosphere and very kind, polite owners!!!”
Great atmosphere and very kind, polite owners!!! Even helped my fiancee, who is new to maneuvering a 30ft toy hauler, get backed in to our site. Amenities are great. My 3 and 4 year old boys love the playground and the trails. But were bummed that the pool was drained already since its unseasonably warm but it was expected. Great common area for kids of all ages with cameras as a safety precaution. Looking forward to the rest of our 4+ months here. 9/17

"We have been here for 4 months and love it"

We have been here for 4 months and love it.  The the owner is very nice. And would go out of his way to help anybody that needed it. And the people in the campground are always there if you need a helping hand. 9/17

"Definitely 5 stars!"

The owner is very nice and helpful. The facilities are clean, the bath house and restroom look like the were remodeled recently. Easy parking, easy to find, no low branches on the way for taller motorhomes or fifth wheel trailers to worry about. We had a pleasant stay. Definitely 5 stars! 9/17

"Home all year round"

Great place to live and great people that stay here. The owner is kind and helps in any way he can. Been here over 1 year now and me and my family love it. Its nice, quiet and peaceful. Nice clean bathrooms and shower houses. Its very welcoming to travelers, and it is home to the people who stay here all year round. 9/17

“This is a nice, clean, quiet campground with a lot to offer”
This is a nice, clean, quiet campground with a lot to offer. The owner and the staff are very friendly and accommodating. We really enjoyed our stay here and would recommend it to anyone planning on camping in the Cincinnati area. 9/17

"Close to bike trail an lake for fishing"

We really enjoyed our time here. The owner was very hospitable and helpful and the campground is clean and well kept. We had a great time cycling and walking on the conveniently close bike trail. It's also very close to a lake that looks great for fishing. Very scenic area. 9/17

“The campground is conveniently close to various local attractions, numerous shopping areas, yet surrounded by nature“
We stayed two weeks and had great time. The owner was very friendly and helpful. The bathrooms were always clean. We didn't use the activity room, but it looked like lots of fun, and during the summer I'm sure the pool would be too. But being autumn we had fun on the nearby bike trail, hiking, and playing at the playground area. The campground is conveniently close to various local attractions, numerous shopping areas, yet surrounded by nature. We have a tall fifth wheel trailer and so we are often nervous about low branches, but along the road and in the campground there was plenty of clearance for our trailer to park easily and without any problems. Great place to camp! 9/17

“It's a great place to camp“
We had a nice, pleasant stay here. The owner, Walter, is get nice and accommodating. The restrooms and bath house are clean and well maintained. Plenty of showers so you don't have to be stuck in a line. My kids loved the little play house in the playground area. Even on the weekend quiet hours are observed and the campground is very peaceful. It's a great place to camp whether your camping with a large motor home, a fifth wheel trailer, or even a tent. They also have a number of cozy looking cabins available. All in all a very pleasant experience. 9/17

“Small, Quiet, Inexpensive Campground”
This is a small, inexpensive, “off the beaten path” campground, with several seasonal campers and a few cabins. We stayed here based on location only, as we had business nearby, but were happy with our choice. The campground is wooded, providing plenty of shade. We visited during the “off-season,” so the campground only had a few guests and things were extremely quiet.
The campground host was very accommodating and helpful. When I called to make my reservation, he helped me choose a site that would be best for my RV. When we arrived, he met us at the campground entrance, showed us to our site, and helped us park. 9/17

"Highly recommend"

Great campground, clean quiet and very helpful and respectful staff. I highly recommend Frontier Campground! 9/17

"Very clean"

we stayed for a month and enjoyed all the amenities they offer , Walter is a great man and is working hard to maintain the campgrounds. The shower houses, restrooms and laundry room are very clean . We will be back 9/17

“Enjoy and appreciate the beauty of nature“
Frontier Campground has been a favorite stop for us when visiting the Dayton area since 2013. It's lovely location in a grove of mature trees makes it a wonderful place to visit at any time. It's close to the Spring Valley Wildlife Area, which makes it a marvelous base for anyone interested in bird watching or gentle hikes in the wildlands. It's staff are friendly and helpful, and have always been welcoming to my sister, brother-in-law, niece and nephews who come visiting us to go bird watching and then roast hot dogs and marshmallows at our campfire. We do not go camping to enjoy a game room with air conditioning and let the kids run wild on the playground or in the pool- we go to enjoy and appreciate the beauty of nature. We have just confirmed our reservation for our fourth at-length stay with them, and are looking forward to enjoying the quiet, peaceful space found at Frontier Campground. 8/17

“Great place”
Great place clean and Walter is a very wonderful owner 8/17

“Great”
Great Rv park. Staff is wonderful. 8/17

“Nice, quiet, out of the way”
We visited our sister and brother -in- law while they stayed here. Place was very clean and quiet. It's an out of the way spot to camp near Caesar's Creek. They travel frequently, and have been coming here for years. It's an enjoyable place near Waynesville and Wilmington. 7/17

“It was beautiful“
While we didn't have kids with us it was a very quiet place and fairly nice visit. We were there for 5 days while at Hamvention 2017 at the Fairgrounds at Xenia . After long days it sure was nice to head back to the tailor to sleep and then start the day all over. A plus was the lack of traffic in and out of the place. It was beautiful and we had nice walks after getting back in the evenings. I will stay again next year also so it was good enough for follow ups and enjoying the scenery. The surrounding areas were so well kept up and the parks were also nice. 6/17

“Friendly and quiet”
Great little campground. Friendly and quiet. 5/17

“Can't wait to return”
Neat, clean, secure, privately owned campgrounds with the best prices. My family and I love it. Can't wait to return. The old cabins are so cool. 5/17

“Quietest, calmest, cleanest campground I have been to in my entire life“
Quietest, calmest, cleanest campground I have been to in my entire life. Great management who takes good care of the grounds. Highly recommended. Beautiful setting and area. Close to good fishing. 5/17

“Hidden Potential”
Frontier Campground has a lot of potential and it appears the owner is working toward making improvements. This park is tucked away in the quiet of the country and while there are no actual hiking trails within the park, it bumps up against a large wildlife area that has a public lake for fishing and trails for hiking and biking.
The sites and interior roads are gravel, trees are trimmed and make for easy movement. All sites, both back-in and pull through, were naturally shaded with mature trees, but we were still able to get satellite coverage. Most sites had a picnic table, fire ring, and either a gravel or concrete patio. All sites are full hook-ups ( offers both 30 & 50 amp) and utilities were in good working order. I used the laundry room and while small (2 washers/2 dryers), it was in good working order. An added convenience is the onsite propane station.
Now the "potential" part. In addition to RV sites, the park offers log cabins, a swimming pool, Clubhouse, basketball court, and a cute little playground - all of which could use some tender loving care to bring them back up to what I am sure once were great little attractions. 3/17

“The owner was very friendly and helpful”
Sites are level and gravel with a lot of shade, sites are close together but enough room for slide outs....some sites have small patios and there are some permanent campers but there was no problems...we have a 36' motor home and had no problems getting around but this could be an issue when the park is full with a lot of vehicles...the owner was very friendly and helpful...they had free wifi but we never did get connected, but phone service was great, we have at&t...we picked up about 30 tv channels so that is a plus....pet friendly, nice playground for kids, pool...the main shower house was closed for season but there was 2 other main restrooms, men and women with flush toilets and one shower stall that was clean with plenty of hot water...loved the area and would return... We camped at Frontier Campground in a Motorhome. 11/16

“Loved the shade”
We stayed for almost a month. No complaints other than things basically beyond owners control, poor TV reception, and spotty internet. Can't rate pool (summer season over). Laundry was less per load than what we have been paying elsewhere. Great location, hubby can walk to fish either in the lake or river in the Wildlife area. Bike trail is close by. Quiet RV park, great shade, friendly people. 10/16

“Loved it“
This is a beautiful campground with a lot of tree cover. That's one of my favorite parts. Very nice play area for children. The bathrooms were very updated and clean. The owner was an amazing guy to talk to and was very helpful to us with working with us on everything. I don't get down to this area very often but I would love to come spend a week here. Loved it 8/16

“Well off beaten path”
Quiet campground. Owner takes great pride in upkeep. Well off beaten path. 8/16

“The facilities are clean and very accommodating“
I had a great experience at this campground. The facilities are clean and very accommodating. There is an activity room that has a lot to offer. The campground has a lot of spaces available and the office personnel were great to work with. They are friendly and willing to help with any issues that come up. I highly recommend this campground. I will be coming back again. 8/16

“We enjoyed our stay so very much“
We enjoyed our stay so very much. The people are nice. This campground is clean and not loud and crazy. The price is great also. The ac in the cabin was a great break from the heat.. The shower house and restrooms are very clean. We will be back. 8/16

“Excellent long stay option”
We're a family of 4 and we stayed here for 10 weeks in a 42ft fifth wheel. Lots of seasonal and permanent tenants here make for a nice friendly community. The owner runs a tight ship and there's no rowdiness and a nice safe feel to the place. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Didn't really use the amenities there all that much but when I did they were fine. Mostly shaded sites which is nice, and big rig friendly with 50A available. Would definitely recommend. 8/16

“GREAT PLACE TO RELAX AND BE WITH FRIENDS“
I USED TO BE ON SITE 26 (NOW 21) IT WAS THE BEST SITE IN THE WHOLE PLACE BECAUSE EVERYONE WALKED BY WITH THIER PETS AND THEY WOULD STOP AND TALK EVERY YEAR PEOPLE COME RETURN AND VISIT BUT NOW I HAVE A BIGGER CAMPER AND HAD TO RELOCATE TO THE BACK OF THE CAMPGROUND WISH EVERYBODY KNEW I WAS BACK THIER AND STOP BY GREAT PLACE TO RELAX AND BE WITH FRIENDS 8/16

“Cheap plentiful firewood”
Stayed here during sauerkraut festival in 2013. Nice, clean, nicely wooded. Showers were being renovated at time, so can't comment. Cheap plentiful firewood. Would go again. 9/15

“Family owned with great service.”
We stopped over one night at this campground in a 40ft rv towing a car. We called to let owner know we would not be arriving till after midnight. The gentleman gave specific instructions how to get to our site etc. To our surprise, we pulled in after a very long journey at 12:30 am to find him waiting for us with a flashlight to guide us to our site. Site was roomy pull through so we didn't even have to unhook car. We left early the next morning to go to Jungle Jim's Grocery store so we just did quick walk around. Campground was small and very clean. We went to store to let owner know we were headed out. There was note on door that he was out working in campground. When we did call him he always was very pleasant and answered right away. We would definitely use this campground again 8/14

“Had a great time”
Had a great time staying at this campground during a soccer tournament in Beaver Creek last year. Planning to reserve it for this October for another soccer tournament. 8/14

“The grounds are well kept“
Spent a long weekend at Frontier Campground and enjoyed every minute of it. The grounds are well kept. A lot of extra landscaping to dress the camp sites. Full hook-up, plenty of shade, pool to cool off in, ice and fire wood at the campground store. Very friendly owner and operator that loves his involvement in the world of camping! 6/14

“Very nice area”
It was a very nice area liked the amendities after a 50mile bike ride. It was a little tricky getting there without any signs. It would be nice if the state/county helped place signs to the campsite 6/14

“Owner was friendly, patient and accommodating“
Stayed here with a group, Loners on Wheels. Owner was friendly, patient and accommodating. Used the lodge (part of group package) so had wonderful inside fireplace to get out of the rainy, cold weather. In spite of rain, sites not muddy or under water. Getting ready to open lots of activities for children. Nice playground, in-ground pool and will have lots of weekend activities. Bath house and bathrooms were spotless; firewood very reasonable. Our group definitely plans to stay here again. Nicest park with fairly close access to Museum of the US Air Force. Close to Waynesville restaurants and shops and can easily get into Cincinnati. We camped at Frontier Campground in a Travel Trailer. 5/14

“Level sites and paved patios“
Nice basic campground with level sites and paved patios. Size of sites are good, but not huge. Unheated in ground swimming pool is well maintained. Bigger trailers will benefit from pull thru sites as backing in is a little tight. The location is a little off the main path which makes this campground have a secluded feeling, but is not too far from some shopping and restaurants. We stayed here while visiting Kings Island for the weekend which is about 30 minutes away. Would stay here again if visiting in the area. We camped at Frontier Campground in a Travel Trailer. 9/13

“Easy to get into the sites”
Nice campground. We have stayed here before and it the same as before. Quiet and easy to get into the sites. We camped at Frontier Campground in a Fifth Wheel. 9/13

“We rode our bikes about 2 min to the trail”
We spent one night here with the sole purpose of riding the Little Miami bike trail. We rode our bikes about 2 min to the trail and got a great ride in before dark. The RV park was nicely kept and the owner was very friendly and helpful. He was on-site and available our entire stay. The park was peaceful and the mature trees were glorious in their fall foliage. We will stay here again. We camped at Frontier Campground in a Fifth Wheel. 10/12

“Don't follow you GPS, follow their directions”
Small campground. Owners doing a lot of work to make it nicer. Very friendly. We stayed here so we could visit family and would definitely stay again. A little hard to find. Don't follow you GPS, follow their directions especially if you are in a big rig. We camped at Frontier Campground in a Motorhome. 10/11

“They had the nicest showers and restroom Ive ever seen at a campground “
I enjoyed this place. It is gravel but the sights are level. The owner is constantly making improvements. Like most of us he dose the best he can with what he has. Its quiet secluded but not to hard to get to, a nice change from the usual place. Its a little tough to get your satellite dish to come in but with a little effort I was able to get 90% of my HD channels. but there are several local channels. There's a reasonably prided canoe trip near buy Id suggest to anyone. They had the nicest showers and restroom Ive ever seen at a campground. We camped at Frontier Campground in a Travel Trailer. 9/11

“Right next to wetland wildlife area and great biking trail “
Great park in a nice rural area. Owners making lots of improvements and are very friendly. Several large pull-thrus for big rigs. Right next to wetland wildlife area and great biking trail. We camped at Frontier Campground in a Motorhome 4/11
